Psychosis Infectious

Infectious psychosis is a type of acute mental illness, one of the manifestations of a set of mental disorders in acute infectious diseases.

The development of PI is provoked by strong stimulation of the subcortical formations of the brain by bacterial or viral toxins. The initial etiological factor is an infectious disease (or intoxication with toxic substances), then an asthenic reaction joins and general psychosis (“infectious hallucination”) is formed.
