Handel Bun
The Held bundle (English cochlear nucleus, vestibulocochlear nerve bundle) is a set of neurons associated with the perception of sound in the cochlea and responsible for the convergence of auditory signals from the fibers of the semicircular canals of the inner ear with the afferent fibers of the auditory nerve trunk. The bundle is located in the pons of the brain.
The bundle is associated with auditory analysis and controls the sounds we hear (frequency, tone, pitch, etc.). Based on information received from the auditory system, the brain is able to identify the source of the sound, as well as recognize events occurring around it.
Research shows that poor hearing habits in youth can lead to hearing problems later in life.
