Posterior navel

The posterior navel is an anomaly of the development of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, in which protrusion of sebaceous gland cysts from the skin and subcutaneous fat is observed. This pathology occurs in 0.3% of newborns, especially boys. The anus is considered the most common variant of this developmental anomaly (75-85%), the remaining 15-25% of cases are the presence of multiple posterior cysts.
