Cutting Hi (Needling)

Hi or Needling incision is a type of capsulotomy.

This method uses a sharp needle to create a hole in the lens capsule.

Currently, this technique has been almost completely replaced by the use of YAG laser surgery.

Laser surgery is safer and more effective because laser radiation destroys the lens capsule without damaging surrounding tissue.

Hi or Needling is a type of eye surgery that creates a hole in the lens capsule to correct myopia or astigmatism. This method was developed in the 1950s and is still used in some cases.

Hi dissection is performed using a sharp needle that is inserted into the lens capsule through a small incision in the cornea. The needle passes through the capsule and creates a hole that allows you to change the shape of the lens and correct the vision defect.

However, nowadays, Hi cutting has almost completely been replaced by the use of YAG lasers. These lasers are used to create holes in the lens capsule without the use of a needle, reducing the risk of complications and speeding up the process of vision restoration.

Although the Hi section is no longer used as often, it can still be useful in some cases, such as when other vision correction methods do not produce the desired results. Also, the use of YAG lasers is not always possible in some situations, so Hi cutting may be an alternative in such cases.
