Receptor External

External receptors: brief essence and concept.

An external receptor is an organ designed to perceive external stimuli without converting their energy into excitation energy of the central nervous system cell. As a result of their action, they transform the irritation and then transmit this information to the central nervous system. A chain of complex reactions occurring in the links of this system (skin, mucous membranes, eyes, hearing, vestibular apparatus) leads to the emergence of sensation. Thus, receptors are converters of the energetic properties of a stimulus into a factor that ensures adequate behavior of the organism. Signs of external receptors: 1. The ability to distinguish only stimuli from different parts of the surface
