Reflex Palatine

An organ that has anatomical similarities with the pterygomandibular gland and processes of the sphenoid bone, unpaired, paired. It starts from the posterior part of the anterior edge of the septum of the nasal cavity (at the level of the 2nd-3rd upper molars), runs parallel to the posterior edge, partly intraosseous, together with the upper edge of the body of the sphenopalatine bone. It then goes into the pterygoid process of the maxilla and on its medial surface is attached to the linea aspera.
