Ragged Hole

A laceration is a small hole in the bone of the skull - in the pyramid of the temporal bone, just above the ear. This canal connects the middle and inner ear canals. The name torn hole itself comes from the Greek word torna, which means “torn.” The fact is that the bone itself in this place is divided into two parts - half-arches, and between them there remains only a bone bridge only 2-3 millimeters wide. The “raggedness” of this bridge gave rise to this name.
