Sechenov (inhibitory) resorptive inhibition is a type of physiological inhibition discovered by I.M. Sechenov in 1863. Following S.S. Bryukhonenko, I.M., Sechenov gave a physiological explanation of the reflex action of hydrochloric acid, which is the main regulator of all digestive processes in the stomach ; the reasons causing and maintaining this inhibition were indicated. It is in antagonism to excitation: chemical irritation of the end of a nerve (past receptor) causes excitation of the beginning of another nerve and at the same time a contraction of the internal organs associated with it (mainly the stomach, intestines), which, as it were, “turns off” some of the interoceptors involved in the functioning of this system, and braking is reduced to the original level.
