Ischial notch minor

The ischial notch minor (incisura ischiadica minor, pna, bna, jna) is a narrow notch between the ischium and the ischial tuberosity. Located below the greater sciatic notch. The sciatic nerve and superior gluteal artery pass through the lesser sciatic notch, as well as the veins that innervate and supply the muscles that form the gluteal region. The minor sciatic notch plays an important role in providing the passage of nerves and blood vessels to the gluteal muscle.
