Sphygmogram Central

The central sphygmographic wave is the main type of sphygmography. It is recorded on the common carotid or femoral artery and corresponds to the cardiac cycle. To obtain S. c. V. the catheter is withdrawn from the puncture needle from different points in the artery, depending on the problem being solved. At the same time, the curves of the aorta (CA), pulmonary trunk (CT), (VA), middle cerebral artery (MCA, SA) and internal carotid (MCV) are recorded. Lead from the femoral artery with simultaneous electrocardiographic examination often makes it possible to obtain a pressure curve of the coronary vessels with P and T waves during the pulse wave (individual waves of this curve are designated as T-I and I, the T-O interval is designated as K).

In a healthy person, by the time of maximum ejection of blood from the ventricles, the pressure in the arterial bed already reaches 95-140 mm Hg. Art., and 35-40 s after the onset of systole it rises to 75-85 mm during heart contractions, and to 110-120 ml at the highest value. During the period when the heart is filled with blood, the pressure drops to almost zero (below 5 mm Hg). This is the lowest figure in the entire massif.
