Hypochondriacal paraphrenia syndrome

Hypochondiac paraphrenic syndrome is a mental disorder characterized by constant fear and concern about one's own health. Patients tend to perceive any symptoms as signs of serious illness and require a thorough medical examination. Despite the fact that medical diagnosis usually does not confirm the presence of physical problems, patients continue to insist on their diagnosis and demand additional treatment.

Causes The key factor in the occurrence of this disorder is the person’s personality - a special tendency towards anxiety, sometimes reaching paranoid and hysterical forms of reactions. Such people are characterized by a special bias, curiosity, desire to observe their internal and external states and constantly reflect on them. They think they are under the influence of supernatural forces or have certain physical characteristics. The feeling of impending danger is usually combined with fear of a negative assessment from others. In addition, sexual tension is common, to the point of obsessive sexual thoughts or fantasies or fears.
