SKIN, DERMATOSES, SWEAT GLANDS

Skin is a multifunctional organ that covers the entire surface of the body and protects it from external influences. Main functions of the skin:

  1. Protective - the skin protects against mechanical damage, ultraviolet radiation, and the penetration of microorganisms.

  2. Thermoregulatory - the skin participates in the thermoregulation of the body by changing blood flow and sweating.

  3. Excretory - metabolic products are released through the skin with sweat.

  4. Receptor - the skin contains receptors that perceive touch, pain, and temperature.

The skin consists of three layers: epidermis, dermis and hypodermis.

Sweat glands are located in the dermis and secrete sweat, which is involved in thermoregulation. With diseases of the sweat glands, sweating may be impaired.

Dermatoses are the general name for skin diseases. These include infectious (fungal, bacterial, viral), allergic, autoimmune and hereditary diseases. Symptoms of dermatoses: redness, peeling, itching, rashes. Ointments, creams, tablets, and physiotherapy are used to treat dermatoses. It is important to maintain hygiene and take proper care of your skin.
