Scorpilla Tumor

A mucoepidermoid tumor (scorpile tumor) is a benign neoplasm of the salivary glands. Most often found in the parotid salivary gland.

Characterized by slow growth and the presence of cystic cavities filled with mucus. It can reach large sizes, causing deformation of facial tissues.

Diagnosis is based on ultrasound, CT and MRI data, as well as cytological and histological examination.

Surgical treatment involves removing the tumor along with the affected part of the salivary gland. The prognosis is favorable after complete removal. Relapses are rare.
