Hygiene products threaten women's health

A report called Chem Fetale was published in the United States, which talks about the dangers of hygiene products for women's health.

The American organization Women's Voices for the Earth published a report pointing out the hidden dangers of many feminine hygiene products. According to research, pads, tampons, etc. may contain ingredients that can cause allergic reactions and serious diseases such as asthma and cancer.

The study tested sanitary pads, napkins and towels. All of these items have been tested for preservatives, pesticides, fragrances and dyes.

“Pads or wipes may seem like a fairly simple hygiene item, and many people think they are made from cotton, rayon or other cellulose fiber,” the report says. “But in fact, they can all be contaminated with highly toxic dioxins when bleached by chlorine and pesticides.” made from non-organic cotton."

It is noteworthy that the authors of the report focused attention on the hidden components of hygiene products, which are not usually written about on packaging.

“Manufacturers are required to list all ingredients and additives used in sanitary pads and other feminine hygiene products,” the report states. “In addition, all ingredients classified as allergens must be known to consumers so they can make responsible, informed decisions.” ".

Interestingly, the study revealed that hygiene products such as wipes and pads are regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration in the category of medical devices. Their manufacturers are not required to disclose all ingredients to buyers.

In general, the authors of the report warn women to blindly use hygiene products and recommend, if possible, not to abuse products of this nature.
