Tendon Spindle

The tendon spindle is a spindle-shaped thickening that is located on the fibers of skeletal muscles. It is formed by compaction and thickening of the protein strands that make up these fibers. The spindle of tendon is a key structural component of muscles and plays an important role in muscle function.

Function of the tendon spindle:

- Attachment of muscles to bones: The spindle tendons connect skeletal muscles to bones. This mechanism allows freedom of movement while maintaining stability.

- Control of muscle contraction: The tendon spindle acts as an interface between the brain and muscles. It regulates the level of excitation of nerve cells, which transmits contraction movement signals.
