Dried Topyanaya: properties and application in medicine and folk cosmetology

Marsh dryweed, or popularly just driedweed, is an annual herbaceous plant of the Asteraceae family that grows in swamps, river banks, marshy meadows, ditches and ditches. The plant is distributed throughout almost the entire territory of the European part of Russia, in Western and Eastern Siberia, Kazakhstan, the Caucasus and the Far East. The height of the plant reaches 30 cm, and the root is taproot. Steles are thin, highly branched, covered with woolly-gray felt pubescence.

The leaves of the cudweed are small, pointed, linear, pubescent, with a midrib. Flowering occurs in June-August, and the fruit is a greenish-gray achene with a tuft, which ripens in July-September.

Dry grass Marsh has medicinal value and is used in medicine to treat various diseases. The entire cudweed plant serves as a medicinal raw material, which contains essential oil, tannins, resins, flavonoids, alkaloids, phytosterols, carotene and vitamins C, A, B1.

Cushion preparations reduce blood pressure, enhance intestinal activity, increase blood clotting, have a calming effect on the nervous system, and have wound-healing, anti-burn and hypoglycemic effects. This plant has received the greatest recognition in the treatment of mild forms of hypertension and peptic ulcers of the stomach and duodenum, accompanied by nervous excitement, insomnia and fear.

For peptic ulcers, cucumber is prescribed in a mixture with blue cyanosis. To prepare the infusion, pour 2 tablespoons of raw material into a glass of hot water, boil in a water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter and squeeze. Take 1/3-1/2 cup 3 times a day after meals. Long-term use of the drug does not cause side effects.

The effectiveness of treating hypertension increases if the infusion of cucumber is combined with foot baths from the same herb at a temperature of 32-35°C. To prepare it, 250 g of raw material is poured into 5 liters of hot water and left for 2-3 hours. Then the infusion is filtered and added to the water for foot baths. The duration of the procedure is 15-20 minutes, it can be performed every day or every other day. Foot baths with cudweed help lower blood pressure, reduce swelling of the feet and improve blood circulation.

Sushenitsa is also used in folk cosmetology. Its infusion helps cope with acne, improves complexion, relieves inflammation and irritation of the skin. To prepare the infusion, pour 2 tablespoons of dried cucumber into a glass of boiling water and leave for 30 minutes. Then the infusion is filtered and used to wipe the face 1-2 times a day.
