Diaphragm Ligament Superior

Ligament Diaphragm Superior - the upper border of the attachment of the diaphragmatic dome, formed by the connection of the left half of the diaphragm with its muscle ring, as well as the sternum and spine. The upper edge of the diaphragm is covered from above by the crura of the diaphragm and the subcutaneous abdominal muscle. The location of the lower edge of the diaphragm at the spine explains the significance of the dorsal convexity of the dome border - an adaptation to the movement of the lungs during breathing. The connection between the diaphragm is most pronounced on the upper left, where it largely overlaps the left main bronchus, which forms the upper lobe of the right lung, and the left dome of the pleura.
