Syndactyly Cutaneous Membranous

Syndactyly leathery is a congenital developmental anomaly in which two parts of the limb are connected by skin or a dense membrane in the area of the nail bed. Normal limb development begins as two separate structures in the embryo, but in the case of hereditary syndromes or birth defects, some of them are more or less closely connected. Depending on the degree of fusion, linear and leathery forms are distinguished.

Syndactyly, also known as “webbing of the toes,” is a rare genetic disorder that affects approximately 1 in 50,000 births. It manifests itself in the form of an additional callus, which is located between the connected fingers. This abnormality can lead to various problems, including difficulty walking and sometimes loss of mobility.
