Thanatology is a discipline about death. It is part of the broader field of social and cultural anthropology and integrates knowledge from different areas of human studies.
The world is not ideal: everything in it is subject to aging, illness, fatigue, and various psychological and physiological ailments. Sooner or later people die. The vast majority die of old age. Death comes unnoticed, and at the same time it can turn out to be completely different than we imagined it. A person will seek consolation in this fact from other people, performing some actions for the benefit of their experiences. Trying to prevent natural changes in life. Taking care of yourself. Sharing with others. And this is an endless process of saying goodbye to this world, which we want to leave as we saw it in the last few moments and in which to leave the memory of our personal little world.
