Tikhonovich-Polenov Operation

Tikhonovich-Polenov surgical operation combines the achievements of two outstanding surgeons - Alexander Lavrentievich Polenov and Alexey Vasilyevich Tikhonovich - and is one of the most important methods for treating chest and abdominal injuries. This operation has been used for many years, but still remains relevant

Tikhonovich-Polenov Operation is a unique method of surgical treatment of various diseases, developed and first used in the USSR by Anastas Apterovich Tikhonovich in the 90s of the 20th century. The operation was named after two outstanding Soviet surgeons, Anatoly Leonidovich Polenov and Adolf Abramovich Tikhonovich, who jointly developed and implemented this technique.

The essence of the method is as follows. The surgeon makes an incision in the skin and periosteum of the bone tissue and penetrates directly into the joint cavity, finding an inflamed area of cartilage that is infected and interferes with the normal functioning of the joint. Then the surgeon, using special instruments, performs an operation to remove the infection, clearing the surface of the cartilage tissue from purulent accumulations. This method differs from conventional surgery in that the infectious agent is directly removed from the joint cavity, saving the patient from the need for repeated surgery in the future.

The Tikhonovich-Polenova operation can be performed to treat various types of joint diseases,
