Toxic dermatitis is a dermatitis that develops after the use of pharmacological drugs that have a skin irritant effect.
Toxidermia is a drug-induced skin rash that occurs as a result of direct contact of various dermatotropic chemicals (type 4 hypersensitivity reaction) with the skin. Toxidermia can develop 72 hours later, sometimes up to 5 days after administration of the drug. Rarely do these reactions occur weeks or months after taking the medication.
