Calendula facial toner

Orange-yellow calendula flowers are not only bright autumn decorations, but also a cosmetic product that has been famous since ancient times. From flowers, traditional medicine has created many recipes for the beauty and health of the body. Let's make calendula lotion at home, as well as a simple but effective calendula tonic.

Healing properties of calendula

We use calendula, which has truly remarkable cosmetic qualities. Alcohol infusions and water decoctions of flowers (more precisely, petals) of the plant help to quickly relieve irritation, dryness, and protect the face from negative weather conditions (frost, sun, strong wind).

The plant is rich in essential oils and organic acids. Recommended for irritated problem skin: helps with irritation, inflammation, scars, wounds, peeling.

The properties of calendula are very versatile: fighting wrinkles, loss of skin elasticity, removing age spots, caring for skin with increased irritability, acne, caring for acne-prone epidermis.

The petals of the plant contain oil that is suitable for caring for sensitive epidermis, helps with acne, and softens cracked, rough skin.

Calendula is a strong natural remedy with a softening, anti-inflammatory, and bactericidal effect. It soothes, relieves inflammation, rashes, itching.

Tonic with alcohol tincture

The most effective herbal tonic is one with the addition of an alcohol tincture of calendula flowers. As a result of infusion in alcohol, the most valuable components of the plant are extracted. Using this tonic, you will forget about many skin problems with a tonic made from calendula tincture. You can buy the tincture at any pharmacy.

Ingredients

  1. a glass of boiled water;
  2. 2 tablespoons of pharmaceutical calendula tincture;
  3. jojoba oil, one teaspoon (if skin is dry).

Boil water, pour into a container and let it cool. Pour 2 tablespoons of tincture and a teaspoon of jojoba oil into cool water. You will get a two-phase product that needs to be shaken well before use to mix both parts of the product.

Jojoba oil may not be added if you have oily, problematic epidermis. This is the calendula tonic we made at home!

Every morning and every evening, after washing with warm water, wipe your face with a cotton sponge soaked in tonic. After wiping, apply your favorite cream.

Soothing lotion with vodka and lemon

You can also make the tincture yourself. Let's prepare a lotion from calendula tincture at home. We will get an alcohol lotion, but it will not dry out the epidermis at all. With this soothing remedy you can restore dry, irritated, problematic, sensitive skin. It has high anti-aging properties, so it is especially recommended for mature, aging skin. It is also an effective acne remedy.

4. Lotion with calendula for enlarged pores: You will need borax - 1/8 teaspoon; lavender oil – half a teaspoon; wax - one teaspoon; aloe juice - half a tablespoon; calendula petals - one tablespoon; apricot oil - one tablespoon; coconut oil - one tablespoon; jojoba oil - one tablespoon; almond oil - four tablespoons; half a glass of distilled water;

Heat the almond oil, apricot oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, aloe vera gel and wax until the wax melts. Let the mixture cool. Dissolve borax in water and bring it to a boil. Then, with constant stirring, gradually pour the water and borax into the cooled wax. Add lavender oil and calendula petals, continuing to stir the mixture. After the product becomes homogeneous, pour it into a glass container. Store in the refrigerator and shake before use.

Moisturizing lotion: Melt four tablespoons of sweet almond oil with one tablespoon of beeswax in a double boiler. Separately, in a water bath, heat one teaspoon of strong calendula tea and two tablespoons of aloe pulp. Stir a quarter teaspoon of borax into the tea and aloe mixture until it is completely dissolved.

Remove both containers from the heat and pour the aloe mixture into the container containing the almond oil and wax. Beat the mixture until homogeneous and completely smooth, then add 5 capsules of vitamin E and 5 drops of sandalwood essential oil to it, then beat the mixture again, then pour the finished product into a glass container. Refrigeration is not required if used within 30 days.

1) Anti-acne lotion from calendula tincture: pour two tablespoons of marigolds into 0.5 liters of water, put the mixture on the fire, bring to a boil, simmer for 10 minutes, then remove, let cool, strain. Wipe your face with the product every morning and evening; this procedure will help lighten acne spots, pigmentation, and remove skin irritation.

2) Add two tablespoons of tincture and three tablespoons of aloe juice to a quarter glass of water. The resulting product can be wiped over the entire skin of the face 2 times a day every day. Aloe juice can be mixed with calendula tincture, taking one tablespoon of these products and, using a cotton swab, lubricate each pimple individually, trying not to touch the skin around it.

Marigolds are beautiful, bright orange flowers from the Aster family. Their medicinal properties have long been used not only in folk, but also in official medicine. And how could cosmetology pass by such a treasure?

From marigolds you can make a huge number of cosmetic products for the face: masks, creams, infusions, lotions, applications, compresses, etc. It’s one thing if you prepare all this in water. And it’s completely different if it’s alcoholic. Therefore, the properties of calendula tincture will be somewhat different from traditional recipes.

  1. whitens the skin from pigmentation of various origins and, above all, lightens freckles and age spots;
  2. helps with oily skin, effectively drying it out;
  3. treats burns, cracks, scratches, abrasions, wounds that have not healed for a long time, promoting a rapid recovery (this all happens thanks to the triterpenoids that are part of these flowers);
  4. saves from acne on the face and other neoplasms (acne, inflammation, boils, blackheads), reducing the halo of their spread, including during adolescence: coumarins in marigolds have anti-inflammatory properties;
  5. tightens pores;
  6. eliminates wrinkles, as it has rejuvenating properties and activates regeneration processes in tissues;
  7. removes rosacea mesh;
  8. prescribed for demodicosis, since alcohol destroys the habitat favorable for the activity of the subcutaneous demodex mite;
  9. recommended after cleansing the face (any), because it disinfects and prevents the development of complications and side effects.

So the benefits of such a product for facial skin are obvious. Thanks to the alcohol component and the bioactive substances contained in marigolds, the use of this drug as a cosmetic product is 100% justified. But only if it is used correctly.

On a note. Marigolds infused with alcohol have a wide range of uses: from acne to demodicosis. However, you should not perceive this drug as the only working cure for these diseases - it is just an auxiliary remedy. For complete recovery, complex therapy is required in accordance with medical prescriptions.

  1. Wipe your face with calendula tincture lotions to disinfect and eliminate oily skin.
  2. Tonics with it are not as effective as lotions, because by definition they should not contain alcohol, but still they do a great job of cleansing the face.
  3. All kinds of applications and compresses with calendula tincture on problem areas save from local rashes (for example, apply them directly to an inflamed pimple, or a fresh burn, or a wound that has not yet healed).
  4. A cosmetic mask with this healing liquid can work wonders, as it has a pronounced wound-healing, disinfecting and drying effect + those properties that the auxiliary ingredients will give it.
  5. Homemade creams can also include this ingredient if they are intended to care for oily or problematic skin.

As you can see, the choice of cosmetics prepared using calendula tincture is very wide. You can always find the most suitable option for yourself. If you want to try to use it in its pure form, you need to be very careful. A few useful tips will help you get the most out of it:

  1. Do not use expired product.
  2. Once again, look through the list of contraindications and determine for yourself whether you can wipe your face with such an aggressive cosmetic product.
  3. Check to see if your skin has an allergic reaction to this alcohol solution.
  4. In most cases, the use of calendula tincture in its pure form is prohibited, because it can cause severe redness and even burns. This is allowed only for local cauterization of pimples and other inflamed tumors.
  5. In other situations, you need to know how to dilute calendula tincture with water so that it becomes completely safe, but does not lose its beneficial properties.
    Take note of the following proportions: for oily and problem skin - 1 part water and 3 tinctures; for normal and combined - in equal proportions; in rare cases, to eliminate individual cosmetic defects on sensitive and dry epidermis - 3 to 1.
  6. Any products containing this liquid are applied to previously cleansed skin.
  7. Keep applications and lotions on inflamed areas for no more than 10 minutes.
  8. The duration of action of the masks is determined by additional ingredients. If they are also quite aggressive (with mustard, for example) - no more than 10 minutes. If they are soft and gentle, extend them to 20-30.
  9. Lotions and tonics can be used daily, in the morning and evening, after washing.
  10. You should not abuse the healing properties of this magical liquid: as soon as the problem you are struggling with goes away, you should stop using it. The interval between courses of treatment should be at least 2-3 weeks.

All these points are very important, because this is, first of all, a medicinal product. Like any other medical product, it has indications and contraindications, recommended dosages and instructions for use. And all this requires the strictest execution. Otherwise, complications and disappointments cannot be avoided.
