Tonic with lactic acid and zinc

During one of my Fix Price trips, my attention was caught by cute bottles of Seondo tonics (Seido? Sefdo? I'm not very good at puzzles) with fat cats on the label. Having briefly studied the ingredients and not finding anything scary in them, I grabbed two at once: soothing for dry skin And mattifying for combination to oily skin.

The skin I live in: moderately sensitive, combination (thanks to care, as close to normal as possible), prone to rare rashes on certain days of the calendar.

Usage time - 3 weeks.

So, the first hero of the day is Seondo Tonic Control of oily blemish - anti-oily blemish tonic control for combination and oily skin.

Hooray! Finally, an alcohol-free product for oily skin!

The toner pleased me with the presence of calendula extract, zinc and lactic acid, which work well on problem skin and are found in products in a much less modest price segment. The toner promises to mattify the skin, but I personally am of the opinion that a tonic should not do anything like that.

The product has a peach color and a smell of fresh leaves, which makes its use even more pleasant for me.

Thanks to the proven components in the composition, the tonic really helps to keep the skin in good condition, cope with minor inflammations and exfoliates very gently. Of course, it will not solve serious skin problems (for serious skin problems it is generally better to see a doctor), but it will serve as an excellent step in skin care.

I noticed on myself that the product can dry out the skin a little (this is my experience with all zinc cans), so I use it in my evening care with a thicker cream or night masks.

Second bottle - Seondo Tonic Soothing - soothing toner for dry skin.

This toner based on chamomile extract and panthenol is intended for dry skin, however, in my humble opinion, it is suitable for everyone. The product also contains lactic acid, but the manufacturer is silent about its concentration.

I was able to appreciate that the product really soothes the skin after the acid peeling: redness and a slight feeling of tightness left my face almost instantly.

I use the green bottle in the morning after washing my face: the tonic does not dry out the skin and pleasantly refreshes the face.

Despite the fact that the lactic acid content in both toners is insignificant, I would not advise neglecting sunscreen while using them. So to speak, I am a simple person: I see acids and apply Sanskrin.

I wrote here a lot about why skin toning is necessary, with pictures.

Thank you so much for reading to the end

In 2018, the shelves of the Fix price store were replenished with orderly rows of jars with products from the Parli Seondo brand. The successful design, reminiscent of Korean cosmetics, simple compositions, large volume and low price of gels and tonics from fixed price became the reason for purchasing Seondo products, but how effective were they?

Range

Parli Company is a Russian mass market that creates its own products and cooperates with manufacturers of major European brands. The brand has been on the market for ten years, but Seondo products became known to me only in 2018 thanks to Fix Price and the Wildberry online store.

Contrary to misleading expectations, cosmetics from Seondo Fix Price are not Korean (although the packaging design is very similar). Seondo shampoos, tonics and gels are produced in the Republic of Tatarstan, and their composition differs significantly from the usual Korea-Cosmetics.

The Seondo collection (reviews of which are mostly positive) includes:

  1. hair spray and masks;
  2. shampoos and conditioners;
  3. tonics and facial gels;
  4. shower gel;
  5. sunscreens;
  6. wax spray Seondo.

On the Fix Price shelves you can see all three tonics and two types of gels for combination, oily, dry skin, as well as shampoos SEONDO for normal and weakened hair, Seondo hair masks and balms.

Buying 500 ml of shampoo for 50 rubles seemed like a hopeless task to me (I don’t believe in miracles), so I started my acquaintance with Seondo cosmetics from a fixed price with tonic and cleansing gel.

Cost and place of purchase

The price for Seondo tonic with a volume of 250 ml is 50 rubles, you can buy 350 ml by paying 55 rubles. The cost of facial gels is 50 rubles.

You can buy Seondo cosmetics:

  1. at Fix price;
  2. hypermarkets (Okay);
  3. on the Wildberry website.

The most attractive price is a fixed price in the store: on WB they charge 169 rubles for the same volume of product (which is three times more expensive).

Products for combination and oily skin

My skin is now dry, on my nose and chin it is oily with an abundance of blackheads. I used the line of products for combination skin in the summer, when my face was shiny with greasy shine and suffered from acne. As you understand, I did not keep the packaging for the gel and tonic from the fixed price.

Seondo Oil Control Tonic for combination to oily skin came in a cylindrical bottle made of transparent plastic. Such containers are convenient: you can see how much product is left and don’t forget about purchasing a new one.

The bottle has a flip-top cap and a narrow dispenser, allowing you to carefully apply the tonic to a cotton pad in the required amount.

The composition of the tonic is enriched with calendula and sage extract, which have antibacterial properties. Lactic acid and zinc help tighten pores, soothe the skin and prevent the appearance of oily shine.

The product is almost transparent, light yellow in color - it leaves no traces or sticky film on the skin. Seondo toner has a faint calendula scent and is not noticeable on the face.

I wiped my face with tonic before applying the cream in the morning and evening: unfortunately, after a month of use, there was no change in my skin. It’s as if Seondo tonic was not in my comprehensive care routine.

Parli SEONDO Wash Gel Lactic Acid and Zinc for combination and oily skin is sold in a volume of 200 ml for 55 rubles and has an unremarkable composition:

  1. petroleum products;
  2. perfume;
  3. a small amount of lactic acid and zinc (which do nothing in the stated amount).

The fixed price gel has one advantage - a convenient pump dispenser, but otherwise this product is a failure:

  1. unpleasant odor;
  2. liquid consistency;
  3. uneconomical consumption;
  4. low foaming (despite SLS in the composition).

Seondo gel (according to many girls' reviews) dries the skin and tightens it. I’ll add on my own behalf that the remedy:

  1. does not remove makeup;
  2. does not cleanse pores (and therefore contributes to the appearance of acne).

Products for dry skin

Disappointed with the Seondo line for combination skin, I decided to buy a fixed price gel and toner for dry skin.

Parli Seondo Calming Tonic in a 350 ml package costs only 55 rubles, 250 ml - 50 rubles.

The aroma of the product is sweetish, not very pleasant: it is felt on the face. The tonic is cloudy, but uniform in consistency: it does not leave a greasy film, but gives a slight stickiness for ten minutes.

The product contains chamomile and panthenol, which have a healing and tonic effect. Grapevine extract soothes and protects against UV damage.

Girls with sensitive skin should be careful: the Fix Price toner contains hydrogenated castor oil, which often causes allergic reactions.

I applied the toner in the usual way twice a day, but my manipulations led to only one result: clogged pores. Apart from the toner, I didn’t change anything in my skincare routine, so most likely it contributed to the formation of imperfections.

Seondo gel for dry skin turned out to be no better in properties than the previous cleanser from this brand.

The gel contains water, coconut oil, sodium chloride, lactic acid, cocamidopropyl betaine, apricot oil, the benefits of which are offset by obvious fragrance and petroleum products.

Sweetish tart taste, poor foaming and poor removal of makeup and other impurities: despite positive reviews of Seondo from other buyers, I was not satisfied with this product.

I have not yet tried the Seondo toner for all skin types with hyaluronic acid (but now I’m unlikely to buy more cosmetics from this brand). The result of my experiments with cosmetics from Fix Price is a face with clogged pores, pimples, and an oily sheen.

Result

If I were asked to rate cosmetics on a scale of one to five, my Seondo review would be a two. Good design and convenient packaging, pseudo-Korean design are not a reason to buy gels and tonics from Fix Price, endangering your skin.

Oil control tonic.

The tonic itself is in a transparent, slightly flat and elongated bottle made of plastic. The lid is hinged, flimsy in itself, the dispenser is ordinary. But the sticker itself on the bottle is why I paid attention to this tonic with a picture of a cat on it. I would like to add that the line includes three tonics and all of them have images of cats. On the back of the package there is a sticker with all the information - properties, method of use, composition, manufacturer information, expiration date.

Calendula and sage extracts have antibacterial properties and fight minor inflammations and blackheads. Lactic acid and zinc prevent the appearance of oily shine throughout the day. Lactic acid and zinc in the product tighten skin pores and give the skin a healthy glow. The toner will soothe irritated skin and prevent the appearance of oily shine throughout the day.

The smell of the toner is pleasant for me, I can smell the aroma of calendula, it does not remain gentle on the skin after use. In its consistency, it looks like water, transparent, light peach in color.

I use this toner every day in the morning and sometimes in the evening. I apply a small amount of product to a cotton pad and wipe the pad over previously cleansed skin. The toner does not leave a greasy or sticky film. The feeling on the skin is pleasant and comfortable. Also, the toner did not cause any breakouts. – this is important for those who are afraid of such reactions! Fat content really regulates, mattifies, tones. But still, the manufacturer promises that there will be a tonic. It lasts me about two hours, then oily shine appears in the T-zone. I didn’t feel any hydration or the promised exfoliating effect. Its consumption is economical.
