Tonsillitis Acute

Tonsillitis is an inflammation of the tonsils, which can be acute or chronic. The exact mechanism of development of acute tonsillitis has not been fully studied, but it is believed that it occurs against the background of infectious infection with bacterial microflora, less often viral.

The main symptoms of tonsillitis are:

* redness, swelling of the palate; * accumulation of mucopurulent plaque in the throat, which tastes very unpleasant; * fever, chills; * hoarseness of voice; * increased salivation; * low-grade fever; * pain when swallowing.

During an attack, a person has difficulty breathing, the sensitivity of the front of the neck increases, and sometimes an attack of suffocation is possible. In rare cases, headaches and signs of general intoxication of the body occur. This condition can last from several hours to several days.

At home, a person should refrain from consuming hot and spicy foods, alcohol, and tonic drinks. It is useful to drink enough water and fruit drinks, herbal infusions, and follow a gentle diet. Under no circumstances should you make a diagnosis yourself, carry out treatment at home, or resort to folk recipes, including the use of herbal infusions. When the first symptoms appear, you should consult a doctor.
