Toxoplasmosis of newborns (TORCH infection) is an infectious disease caused by Toxoplasma. This is a pathogen that enters the body of a newborn child during the pregnancy of his mother - by ingesting contaminated products. The baby can also become infected through the mother's infected genital tract. In the latter case, a woman may be asymptomatic or in extremely mild forms. The incubation period is 5-30 days.
