Trichomycosis nodosum

*Trichomycosis nodosa* (Trichomyces scabiei) is a fungal skin disease caused by the parasitic fungus Pityrosporum orbiculare. This disease is also known as ringworm or microsporia.

Nodular trichomycosis is caused by a symbiosis of various types of mycelium and bacteria on human skin. First of all, the disease affects the upper part of the head: temples, back of the head, crown, and less often - other parts of the body, including the inguinal folds, limbs and external genitalia in men and women. Favorite sites for infection are large keratinized areas of healthy skin (palms, soles, chest, buttocks). The disease can also manifest itself in a generalized manner, affecting large areas of skin in children. However, this is usually associated with decreased immunity and concomitant infection. Cases of the lobar form in the acute period have also been described. Trichoikoicosis nodular has a characteristic clinical picture. Usually the disease is chronic, disturbing the patient for years with constant relapses of fresh lesions with the formation of small nodules and follicular cysts. ![[A] - nodular form of trichoicosis in a teenager](https://yandex.ru/images/search?from=tabbar&img_url=http%3A%2F%2Flori.ru%2Fnews%2FLori-new-69538.jpg&lr=213&noreask =1&rpt=simage&_=1491605688461&text=%D1%82%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%85%D0%BE%D0%BC%D0%B0%D1%87%D0%BD%D0%BA%D1% 96%20%D0%A3%D0%BB%D0%BF%27%201%676e0e37fb2a4b4fdd120a818e8326ed43de8f30d730389281d3_acade4cb89b1d0f7a98b2d5e2)

The mycelium of this fungus along with bacteria live on the skin of most people who are carriers of the disease. Carriage does not require treatment, but contributes to the chronic course of the pathology. Under favorable conditions, a yeast-like fungus infects hair follicles and penetrates the human skin, causing inflammatory reactions. Characterized by the disease
