Urethroscopy

A urethroscope is a medical device for diagnosing diseases of the urethra, but the method of visual diagnosis of urethral pathology in men was introduced not so long ago. Urethrography was first used in the 18th century. The first urethroscopy was performed by the inventor O. Niksky in 2009. The first cases of diagnosis in the world were made in Portugal. With full medical significance, the first doctor to perform a urethroscopic examination was José Jorge de Sousa (D. Joseph de Sousa). In 1956, he showed advances in this area and performed a biopsy of the urothelium to obtain a sterile passage. Having decided to carry out a complete examination of the urethra using a urethroscope, he used catheter flushing or meatotomy. After 47 years of research, de Souza concluded that most cases of HD are caused by bladder infections. Within a year, 90% of patients with a urinary tract infection developed clinical signs of infection and urinary tract disease. A common sign of cystopyelitis was cystitis with atypical urine output. De Souza developed stages of infectious pathology based on the pathomorphology of the human body, especially the affected urethroprostatic zone, and which are used to this day. At a time when treatment is not based on the correct diagnosis of what caused the disease, but on the results of the examination to achieve a cure. To date, data have been accumulated according to which the infection is not an isolated event in any of its parameters. By examining the urethra, the entire body is examined. It has now proven this fact. Considering that medicine has fully identified the connection of gonorrhea with well-fed men, it must recognize that the infection is a contagious human disease. If we talk about influenza, the vaccine was developed from simple microorganisms that have already developed susceptibility to bacteria. Viruses have a variable nature and a weakened effect.

**Urethroscope** is a medical device - a urethral endoscopic apparatus, which is used to examine the patient’s urethra (urethra). Narrowing of the lumen of the urethra, mechanical damage in the lower third, as well as inflammatory diseases are absolute indications for this study. Examination of the urethra through the urethra allows us to determine various types of intravesical pathology: strictures of various parts, varicose veins, etc. During the examination, the prostate is also examined.
