The common cardinal vein (lat. vena cardinalis communis) is an unpaired venous vessel connecting the cardinal vein with the common vein.

The common cardinal vein originates from a branch of the descending part of the cardinal vein at the level of the IV-V lumbar vertebrae. Heading down and medially, it passes through the sacral foramen and flows into the posterior part of the lateral wall of the abdominal cavity, at the level of the lumbosacral joint, where it connects with the common vein, forming a single venous trunk with it. The common cardiac vein is one of the main veins of the pelvis.

Anatomically, the venous inflow to the EKO can be divided into three sections:

  1. Cardinal vein;
  2. Venous system of the pelvic floor;
  3. Common vein.

The cardinal vein, a branch of the inferior vena cava, collects blood from the lower body and pelvis and also drains blood away from the pelvic organs. The venous flow from the pelvic organs enters the VKO through the pelvic floor veins, which are branches of the inferior mesenteric vein. The common vein, also a branch of the SVC, collects blood from all the veins of the body and sends it to the inferior vena cava.

Thus, the VKO is an important component of the venous system, providing blood outflow from the pelvic organs and lower extremities.



*CARDINAL VEIN COMMON*

The common cardinal vein is an arterial vessel located in the middle part of the body. It starts from the aorta at the diaphragm and travels towards the spine, where it divides into two large branches that become the carotid arteries.

The important functions of the Common Cardinal Vein are to transport blood from the heart to the head, neck and torso. It also plays an important role in the circulation of blood between the right and left lungs during breathing.

One of its most significant anatomical components is the *small vein*. It connects the top of the diaphragm to the right vena cava, which carries blood back to the heart. The small vein is also one of the connections that provides blood circulation to the diaphragm.

With time
