Verapamil (Mival) is a drug belonging to the group of phenylalkylamine calcium channel blockers. It is used to treat a variety of cardiovascular diseases, including angina, supraventricular tachycardia, hypertension and atrial fibrillation.

Verapamil is manufactured by Mir Pharmaceutical in the United States of America. It is available in film-coated tablets in different strengths - 40 mg, 80 mg and 120 mg.

The active ingredient in verapamil is verapamil itself. It blocks calcium channels, which leads to a decrease in the contractile activity of the heart and dilation of blood vessels. This reduces the load on the heart and improves blood circulation.

The use of verapamil is regulated by indications and contraindications. The use of this drug can be used for paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, sinus tachycardia, atrial fibrillation and flutter, angina pectoris, arterial hypertension, hypertensive crisis, idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

However, verapamil also has contraindications, such as hypersensitivity, severe hypotension, cardiogenic shock, AV block II and III degrees, myocardial infarction, chronic heart failure stage III, WPW syndrome and sick sinus syndrome, sinoatrial block, Morgagni-Adams syndrome.
