Composition: Active substance - ceftazidime.

Indications for use: Infectious diseases of the lower respiratory tract, skin and soft tissues, urinary tract, bones and joints, abdominal cavity, central nervous system, septicemia, sepsis, endometritis, pelvioperitonitis.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity, incl. to other beta-lactam antibiotics, pregnancy, breastfeeding.

Side effects: Headache, dizziness, epileptiform seizures, encephalopathy, paresthesia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, epigastric pain, pseudomembranous colitis, increased concentrations of liver enzymes in the blood (AST, ALT, alkaline phosphatase, LDH), leukopenia, neutropenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, lymphocytosis, hemolytic anemia, candidomycosis, allergic manifestations (skin rashes, itching, toxic epidermal necrosis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, erythema multiforme, angioedema, anaphylactic shock), reactions at the injection site: formation of infiltrates and abscesses, phlebitis and thrombophlebitis.

Interaction: Chloramphenicol reduces the effect. Increases the nephrotoxicity of aminoglycoside antibiotics and furosemide.

Overdose: Symptoms: headache, dizziness, paresthesia, in severe cases - generalized convulsions. Treatment: maintenance of vital functions, with the development of seizures - anticonvulsants, in patients with kidney damage - hemodialysis.

Special instructions: Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible if the expected effect of therapy exceeds the potential risk to the fetus. Use with caution in newborns, against the background of severe renal dysfunction, in patients with a burdened allergic history, with the simultaneous administration of ceftazidime and loop diuretics, aminoglycosides.
