Dislocation

A dislocation is an injury to the ligamentous apparatus of a joint (people say “a bone has come out of the ligament”). The joint becomes glassy, so much so that the slightest movement causes unbearable pain and is usually accompanied by a crunching sound - crepitation. In most cases, this occurs in the shoulder (subacromial dislocation), hip (dysplasia) and knee (congenital dysplasia).
