Sexual gland

**Genital gland** - (lat. glandula genitalia) is an important organ in men and women, which is responsible for the production of certain substances necessary to maintain the health and functioning of the body.

The role of the **sex gland** is that it secretes male or female sex hormones, which play an important role in the development of secondary sexual characteristics and human reproductive function.

In men, the gland is located in the scrotum area and is called the testis. It consists of two components - the seminiferous tubules and the seminal vesicle. The seminiferous tubules produce sperm, and the seminal vesicle produces the fluid that transports the sperm. The testicle performs the function not only of producing sperm, but also of hormonal regulation: it produces testosterone, estrogens, androgens and other sex substances involved in metabolism. Thanks to it, the body actively develops during puberty. With a sharp loss of body weight, men cannot continue activities.
