Garnier micellar water reviews for sensitive skin

Myth No. 1. Micellar water is not enough to cleanse your skin

It is not true. Indeed, many of us still use micellar water after using a cleansing lotion, believing that the product will not cope with makeup removal and thorough cleansing of the skin. But this is not so: the basis of the Garnier micellar water formula is micelles - special particles that are added to purified water. Micelles have the ability to attract makeup and impurities like a magnet to easily remove them from the surface of the skin.

Myth No. 2. Micellar water needs to be washed off

Unlike most makeup removers, micellar water does not leave a greasy film on the skin that requires additional washing. Thus, by using Garnier micellar water, you not only give it the most gentle cleansing, but also protect it from the negative effects of hard tap water.

Myth No. 3. Using micellar water takes a lot of time

It is not true. To remove makeup with Garnier micellar water, you only need a few minutes and a few cotton pads. You need to apply micellar water to two discs and place them on your eyes for a couple of seconds so that the micelles do their job - attracting particles of makeup and impurities. Then use a new cotton pad soaked in micellar water to remove any remaining traces of mascara, using vertical movements to avoid damaging the eyelashes. You will need another cotton pad to remove makeup from your lips and face.

Myth No. 4. Micellar water irritates the skin

This is wrong. Moreover, the Garnier micellar water formula is designed for all skin types, including sensitive ones. Micelles work surprisingly carefully, attracting particles of makeup and impurities. To cleanse with micellar water, you do not have to put in extra effort, damaging your skin during rubbing with a cotton pad. Keep your movements incredibly light while removing your makeup, and leave the rest to Garnier.

Myth No. 5. Micellar water is expensive

It is not true. You won't have to replenish your supply of Garnier micellar water every now and then: the convenient 400 ml format is designed for 200 uses, which means that one bottle will last for more than 3 months!

Garnier has released micellar water, which promises to become - if it has not already become - a hit for the brand and generally a hit in this category. Yana compared it with two of her favorite micellar products - Bioderma and La Roche-Posay.

I love micellar products for their simplicity, clarity and versatility. My favorites were the cult Bioderma Solution Micellaire Peaux Sensibles and La Roche-Posay Solution Micellaire Physioloque.

I intended to take the first one with me to a desert island and keep it in my diet, even if I had to live on one salary, although in the comments to this post there were people whose eyes it stings). Price - 700 - 800 rub. for 250 ml.

micellyarnaya-voda-garner-ikaGE.webp

The second one - La Roche-Posay Solution Micellaire Physioloque - I used in a huge bottle (not the one in the picture, but 400 ml, price - about 1,200 rubles) for six months and was completely happy.

My requirements for micellar are quick cleansing (preferably waterproof mascara, but depending on your luck with mascara, some particularly persistent ones don’t give up), no smell (or very light and very pleasant) and no feeling of anything on your face afterwards. Well, so that it doesn’t irritate the eyes, of course. My eyes are generally not very sensitive, but I wear contact lenses, so sometimes things happen.

Both brands claim that there is no need to rinse off their micellar afterwards. Cosmetologists still advise wiping your face with tonic afterward, so that the remains of dirt and makeup, dissolved by the notorious micelles, do not remain on the skin. Sometimes I do as cosmetologists tell me. But since this requires having thermal water or tonic on hand - not always :)) In a fitness club before a class, for example, I criminally skimp.

So, Garnier micellar water is at a record low price (250 rubles (approximately) for 400 ml) - yes, it meets all my simple requirements.

Yes, it cleans well.

Yes, it doesn't smell at all.

Yes, it does not irritate either the skin or the eyes.

Yes, the skin does not feel the presence of anything foreign after use.

No, it doesn’t remove waterproof mascara; for this, Garnier has released a separate new product - a 2-in-1 express lotion.

Pros regarding Bioderma and La Roche-Posay:

- Lack of any taste. This is important if you are removing makeup from your lips, of course. Here, the competitors are not all so sweet: Bioderma is bitter, and La Roche-Posay is “sour.”

— The price (who would dare to object?) Competes even with L’Oreal Paris, which costs about 200 rubles. but for 200 ml.

Disadvantages regarding the same funds:

- There is a fairly wide hole in the lid - a fair amount immediately pours onto the cotton pad, obviously more than necessary. And because of this, you still want to wash your face afterwards.

— I still like the smell of La Roche-Posay better. It is subtle, but gives the notorious feeling of freshness, which Garnier does not have.

— Bottle size — 400 ml. I haven't come across anything smaller yet. For use at home, this is a plus. In order to take it with you - rather a minus. But I’m sure the brand will quickly cope with this, if not yet. Pot-bellied Bioderma miniatures, 100 ml. — my everything is in travel.

Today is a review of three micellar waters from Garnier: for sensitive skin, for combination skin and two-phase for dry skin.

I wrote about what micellar waters are and how they differ, for example, from tonics, plus visual photographs of how they work. in this post , so I won’t repeat myself here.

Garnier Skin Micellar Cleansing Water

The classic, very first version of Garnier micellar, in consistency it is like slightly sticky water without fragrance, if only a slight technical aroma that resembles slightly stagnant water - many people do not like this water precisely because of this moment, but this did not bother me at all, usually I don't notice technical scents, the main thing is that there is no fragrance.
The effect is very similar to Bioderma Sensibio micellar water - it removes foundation and all other makeup just as quickly without friction, takes on both mascara and waterproof eyeliner with ease, softens the skin well and makes it smooth, I can’t say that they are very strong are different. But, if you really find fault and look for differences between them, then Bioderma micellar dissolves makeup a little faster: for example, when removing eyelid makeup with Bioderma, I apply a cotton pad with my eye closed for about five seconds, then I run the disc over my eyelids - everything comes off easily right away , and with Garnier for a good result you have to hold it for 10-15 seconds - only after that everything is easily and quickly removed without rubbing or stretching the skin. But, again, the difference is small. After removing makeup, I always rinse my face with water, although occasionally you don’t have to wash it off (for example, on a trip) - the composition allows you to do this, but only occasionally; with constant use, it’s better to wash it off.

And another comparison: If we evaluate it in relation to reactive skin, then the pink Bioderma still has a more standard composition (by the way, a detailed post about it is here - Bioderma Sensibio ), but here it is also not bad - not harmful and generally gentle even for sensitive skin, just less close to ideal in this regard.

It does not irritate the eyelids or skin, does not dry it out, and cleanses perfectly: overall, this is a very worthy option for micellar water.

Garnier Micellar Oil Infused Water

I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews about this micellar water, I don’t understand why anyone didn’t like it, in my opinion, it’s very good. Perhaps the problem is that the bottle is “spilled”: I ordered mine on an English website, or perhaps someone chose it incorrectly for their skin type: this water is intended ONLY for dry and sensitive skin, in other cases you are unlikely to like it. I use it in the cold season, and don’t use it on my face at all: after all, I have combination skin, so it cleanses it perfectly, but leaves a not very pleasant oily layer, which is also felt when washed off with water; when dried with a towel, it leaves a pleasant feeling softens the skin, but it’s still too nourishing for my slightly oily t-zone. I think that with really dry skin these sensations will be pleasant + there will be additional nutrition.

I only use it to remove eyelid makeup, and in this sense I really like it - two-phase water, with an oily part, you need to shake it before use, it turns out to be a cloudy, slightly oily liquid. It does not dry out the eyelids and additionally nourishes the skin and eyelashes (the composition contains a small amount of argan oil). It removes makeup very quickly, just phenomenally quickly, better than, for example, two-phase liquids for removing eyelid makeup (although they are similar, I don’t like those at all, but this micellar water removes makeup many times better). You don’t need to hold the cotton pad even for 5 seconds, the water instantly dissolves long-lasting eyeliner, mascara, and long-lasting cream shadows, no need to rub or pull, just a few light movements - and your makeup is gone. It does not irritate the eyes, but it is important not to pour too much liquid onto the cotton pad - if you overdo it, then it will get into the eyes and may tingle a little and feel like a veil, but this is only if the dosage is incorrect (in the previous water, by the way, this is exactly the case same, but there won’t be a veil there in any case).

micellyarnaya-voda-garner-tZRdEgh.webp

The disadvantages here are insignificant: this is the presence of a fragrance - although it is very soft and barely noticeable, reminiscent of something vanilla-cream, in general it does not irritate even the eyelids; Well, in terms of very reactive skin, its composition is not ideal (but generally safe), it’s the same story as with the previous product - if you use micellar waters to cleanse your entire face and you Very sensitive skin, then take the pink Bioderma.

But if you have dry, not too reactive skin and your makeup is quite active, then feel free to take this product.

My rating: 4/5.
Where to buy and price:
of course, in regular stores, I bought it at Filyunik (now they don’t have this brand), but they have water at beautyexpert.com (price without discount £5.99/400ml), at hqhair.com , on lookfantastic.com and on echemist.co.uk .

Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water Combination And Sensitive Skin

I used this water in the warm season, it is intended for combination and sensitive skin, and when I ordered it, it had just appeared on sale (it wasn’t even in stores yet), then I couldn’t find the composition online, so I bought blindly. As a result, when it arrived, the composition was disappointing: there is alcohol, although there is not very much of it, but this is not an option for reactive skin. It removes makeup in the same way as the first water, even a little faster and deeper, for example, it removes BB cream with ease, even cleanses the pores well, but it tingled my cheeks even in the summer, so it’s definitely not for sensitive skin.

But, oddly enough, I used it to remove eyelid makeup - it can only tingle if the cotton pad is soaked generously, and the tingling is very light, and if you soak it properly, the liquid does not get into the eyes and does not sting, and it does not irritate the eyelids at all . At the same time, it quickly dissolves makeup (this is definitely Bioderma level), removes it with ease, removes fat well, makes the skin smooth, and does not dry it out at all. It is advisable to rinse with water after it, then the skin becomes very clean, as if it had been washed with foam.

The composition here is also quite standard for micellar waters, safe, but, as I said, not very desirable for sensitive skin; in all other cases there should be no problems.

In general, if you have non-sensitive combination or even slightly oily skin, then this is a very worthy option that does its job perfectly - it thoroughly and very easily cleanses both impurities and any makeup, without drying it out. This is not the best choice for sensitive skin.

General summary:
in my opinion, micellar waters of this brand are those few products from the mass market that are truly worthy of attention. Absolutely all of them do their job of cleansing perfectly (I compared them with Bioderma - the queen in micellar waters, and maybe they are only a little short of it, but if you compare them, for example, with micellar water from Darphin, then Garnier is many times better, despite something that is several times cheaper), all have quite acceptable compositions, this is definitely the case when it is not necessary to spend more money.
