Nice mask. This is suitable for skin with the first signs of aging, and this is exactly what I have. The mask has a light texture, it spreads easily over the skin, is not greasy, flexible and is quickly absorbed. This mask is for night use, i.e. It means that it should be applied before bed and go to bed in this form. At first I couldn’t imagine what it would look like, but I was really attracted to the composition with hyaluronic acid and edelweiss stem cells. And what’s most surprising is that when I wash my face in the morning, I realize that the mask has not gone away, that it remained on my face and “worked” all night, and did not wipe off on the pillow. The skin is rested, fresh, and moisturized in the morning. Beauty!

Do you like overnight masks? I adore them and usually Asians are my favorites here, but the mask from BodyShop couldn’t help but interest me, since it also claims a unique plastic texture, intense hydration, and elasticity. Of course, I tried it, used it with pleasure, and just recently the contents of the jar ran out, so I’ll finally write about my impressions - a review of the night mask The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask.

One of the most interesting things about it is its plastic-gel texture, amazing, like a smooth eraser; you scoop it up with a special spatula (it comes with the mask), and a dimple forms on the surface, which smoothes out in just a few seconds - the contents in the jar become the same again smooth as before the first use. In some Asian masks you can find a similar trick, and now BS does the same :). It smells very pleasant - very subtle and barely perceptible, something “green”, some kind of mixture of grass and water. The jar, by the way, is made of glass - heavy and very beautiful:

Like all night masks, it must be applied in a fairly dense layer, and not like a cream, and not be afraid of stickiness - the point of night masks is precisely so that moisture accumulates under this layer and by the morning the skin becomes like a peach. It can be applied to bare skin, but it can also be used after all care - personally, I ALWAYS like this option better in night masks, the effect is even more pronounced, since it enhances the effect of all products applied before it.

So, I apply it quite a lot, both on the face, and on the neck, and on the décolleté, within 20 minutes it is quite retracted - the texture is such that it literally “falls” into the skin, is almost completely absorbed, but still remains on the surface a very thin layer of the gel film we need. In order not to stick my face to the pillow, just before going to bed I apply a napkin to my face and neck, but I don’t rub or remove the gel layer (!), but just press it so that the excess is absorbed into the napkin - this way there is no stickiness left. By the way, I apply any skincare cosmetics, and especially night masks, about an hour before bed, this is very important.

Effect: By the morning there is not a single flaking left, no irritation, the skin is so well moisturized that it becomes elastic and elastic to the touch, it seems that water was poured into every cell overnight, and they became plump and elastic :). I love night masks for this effect - the skin after them is as well hydrated as possible, it feels much more elastic to the touch, it’s pleasant to touch, it looks good and fresh.

Why does it work this way: operating principle almost all such masks have the same thing - they contain a large number of humidifiers that attract and concentrate moisture, plus softeners, plus special plastic polymers that fit the skin like a stocking and even more strongly draw in those very moisturizing and softening components, under this layer there is moisture and other active components (for example, from your usual care) overnight they become even more active, are better absorbed and give a more visible effect. In addition to these components, this mask also contains anti-aging vitamin E and edelweiss stem cells, they stimulate skin renewal and prolong youth.

I didn’t see any downsides; on my combination skin, the mask didn’t clog my pores (I applied it about 3 times a week at night on top of my usual skin care routine). Perhaps for some people the stickiness will be a minus, but I have long been accustomed to the fact that this is an integral part of working night masks and I simply accepted it, especially since with the help of napkins the stickiness is very easily removed, and the effect remains the same, so this is not a problem. I don’t know how it will behave on oily skin, but I’m still inclined to think that it is more likely for skin types ranging from combination to dry/age-prone, but not oily/problem-prone.

In general, this mask is no worse than good Asian analogues, it does not irritate (for me this is a special PLUS!), it really moisturizes and “springs” the skin, enhances the effect of other products.
