Cold in the second, dry in the third.

Actions and properties.
Astringent, cooling; vinegar is thinner than it. Sumac prevents bleeding, and some even claim that it does this when hung around the neck. It delays the leakage of bile into the insides.

Cosmetics.
A decoction of tanners' sumac blackens hair.

Tumors and acne.
It is used to make a medicinal bandage on the bruised area, and this prevents the formation of bruises. It helps against nailworms and prevents the growth of tumors.

Wounds and ulcers.
Sumac prevents the spread of malignant ulcers.

Tools with joints.
Its decoction is used as a douche for sprained ligaments, and then there is no swelling.

Organs of the head.
Sumac stops suppuration from the ear, and its gum, if placed in corroded teeth, soothes pain.

Nutritional organs.
Sumac tans the stomach and strengthens it. It quenches thirst, stimulates the appetite with its acidity and soothes nausea from bile.

Eruption organs.
Sumac strengthens, delays menstruation and intestinal bleeding, and prevents the formation of abrasions in the intestines. Enemas are used with it for dysentery, discharge from the uterus and kidney problems.
