Scotoma Round

Round scotoma (lat. scotoma circularis) is a visual field defect that manifests itself in the form of a limited area where vision is absent. This defect can be caused by various reasons, such as diseases of the retina, optic nerve or brain.

A round scotoma can come in a variety of sizes and shapes, and its location can change over time. It can be unilateral or bilateral, and can also affect different areas of the visual field.

Treatment for round scotoma depends on the cause of its occurrence. In some cases, such as diseases of the retina or optic nerve, treatment may include laser photocoagulation or surgery. In other cases, such as tumors or other brain diseases, treatment may be more complex and involve different methods, such as drug therapy or radiation therapy.

It is important to note that a round scotoma is not always a sign of a serious illness. However, if you notice changes in your vision, you should see a doctor for diagnosis and treatment.
