Ingredients: Adenosine phosphate.

Indications for use: Paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (including with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome), differential diagnosis of supraventricular tachyarrhythmias, diagnostic electrophysiological studies (determining the localization of AV block), coronary artery disease, chronic obliterating endarteritis, thrombophlebitis, chronic venous insufficiency, thrombosis veins; diabetic retinopathy, duodenal ulcer, multiple sclerosis, acute intermittent porphyria, lead poisoning.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity, atrioventricular block II and III degrees or sick sinus syndrome (except for patients with an artificial pacemaker), pregnancy, hemorrhagic stroke, history of myocardial infarction, childhood.

Side effects: Dizziness, phobia, blurred vision, headache, pain in the heart, tachy- or bradycardia, atrioventricular block, hot flashes, metallic taste in the mouth, nausea, hyperventilation, bronchospasm, increased sweating, pain in the arms, back and neck.

Interaction: Dipyridamole enhances the effect, theophylline, caffeine and other xanthines weaken it.

Overdose: No information.

Special instructions: Intravenous administration is permissible only in a hospital setting. For patients in whom the administration of adenosine is complicated by atrioventricular block, if repeated administration is necessary, the dose should not exceed the initial one.
