Bakhtiarova Symptom

Bakhtiarov's symptom (BS). Observed in the typical course of Turner syndrome. The symptom is named after the Russian and Soviet general practitioner and infectious disease specialist V. A. Bakhtiarov, who described it in 1899. In children with this symptom, endogenous uveitis reveals corneal opacity resulting in scarring (Bakhtiarova's symptom), gray coloration of the fundus and a narrow transparent stripe in the upper part of the fundus (August's symptom). This symptom complex is also observed with:

1. post-scarlatinal uveitis; 2. leukemia in children; 3. purulent epidural leptomeningitis; 4. toxoplasmosis; 5. rheumatism; 6. carcinomatosis.
