This summer, Maybelline released a whole line of lip balms - this is quite unusual, considering that most often the balm is available in one, maximum two versions. There are six of them here - and I’ll tell you about all of them today.

As a blogger, they sent me a very beautiful press kit, like this rather large box:

And inside are the balms themselves.

The line includes three colorless balms - moisturizing, cooling and intensively caring - and three tinted ones: pink “Passion Fruit”, red “Cherry” and beige “Peach”:

And if it seems to you that there are seven balms in the photo, then it only seems so: the one on the far right is a flash drive of the original shape.

Colorless balms also have SPF 20, and the main caring component in them is aloe; colored balms do not have sun protection, and the caring component is honey. Well, all balms contain shea butter, Asian centella extract and vitamin E.

It’s hard for me to say anything about the difference between the three colorless balms (except that for some reason the moisturizing balm has a rounded top, while the other two have cut off tops, as can be seen in the photo).

They are all light, you don’t feel them on the lips, and they give a light, unobtrusive, moist shine. The one with mint aroma and cooling effect really pleasantly cools the lips, but not for long. Here's how colorless balms look on the lips:

But on the lips they only give a slight tint. Their texture is no worse than the colorless ones - just as soft, pleasant, almost imperceptible on the lips.

And here is my favorite - red balm “Cherry”. That is, it is red in the tube, but on the lips everything is much softer and more natural. What is called “your own lips, only better: it seems like there is almost nothing on them, and the color has become richer. Definitely my choice.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t properly evaluate the caring properties of balms, and I’m unlikely to be able to: my lips don’t bother me, I use balms every day, and usually more than once (for example, if I have a couple of hours of daytime sleep, I then I apply balm). So there is nothing to restore, and for me all balms are good. I differentiate them mainly by their texture. Baby Lips makes it great for daytime wear: light, not “vaseline”. Plus a very decent sun protection factor, and a fairly discreet shine (for colorless options) - I will give at least one copy to my daughter. Or even more, considering the frequency with which they lose them.
