Bungpagga

Bungpahga is an acute infectious disease of unknown origin from the group of myopathies, presumably caused by viruses of the rhabdovirus family and characterized by the development of necrobiotic myositis. The disease is common in southeast Asian countries. Among Asian countries, the first data on incidence are most fully described in India (mid-19th century), Indonesia (1933) and Thailand (1896–1902).

TESTING DIAGNOSIS: Bungpagga should be excluded in case of unilateral symmetrical lesions of the serratus anterior muscles. To diagnose bungpaggi, it is necessary to differentiate from piriformis myopathy, bilateral homeonal damage to the affected vermis of the posterior digastric nerve, and paired paralytic syndrome. Most often, bungpaggge is preceded by respiratory diseases, but sometimes the infection can have unclear etiologies and occur in groups of children and teenagers.
