Buj Guyona

Guyon's bougie is a term that refers to disorders of the urinary system.

The name comes from the names of two doctors - French surgeon Jean Baptiste Guyon and Russian surgeon Sergei Sinitsyn, who independently described this condition.

Guyon's bougie is characterized by a violation of the outflow of urine from the kidney due to compression of the ureter by intersecting vessels. This leads to expansion of the renal collecting system and the development of hydronephrosis.

To treat Guyon's bougie, surgical methods are used - pyeloplasty or ureteral stenting. The purpose of the operation is to restore the normal flow of urine from the kidney and prevent damage to it.
