For example, it is incompatible with MAO inhibitors, increases the hepatotoxicity of isoniazid, reduces the effects of anticoagulants, anticonvulsants (hydantoin derivatives or succinimides), barbiturates, clonazepam, primidone, valproic acid. Phenothiazines, pimozide, thioxanthenes increase central nervous system depression; cimetidine, clarithromycin, diltiazem, verapamil, erythromycin, propoxyphene increase the risk of toxic effects (reduce metabolism). Reduces the effectiveness of contraceptives, which can lead to unwanted pregnancy.
