Bubonic Plague

A skin-bubonic plague node is a pathological nodule that is localized under the epithelium (in humans - at the fascia, subcutaneously or subfascially), manifests itself in the form of a hard, densely elastic consistency and has a diameter of more than 2 cm. The formation of a node is a gradual process, begins as a compaction of the lymphatic vessels . As the disease progresses, the size of the bubo increases in size and becomes compacted, infiltration of the lymph nodes becomes more pronounced, an inflammatory reaction in the inner membrane and perifocal inflammation appear. The presence of infection by examination of regional lymph nodes may be a key manifestation of febrile illness. The location of the infected node occurs with minimal complications in the area of the inguinal fold, closer to the femoral fold. The severity of clinical manifestations varies depending on the stages of the disease.
