Color And Makeup

There are three stages to selecting makeup. After studying them, you will easily learn how to use cosmetic colors to achieve the greatest effect.

Step 1: Determine the contrast level. The level of contrast is the relationship between skin tone and the intensity of hair color and shade, and it determines the makeup palette.

First, you should determine your complexion color: fair (ivory foundation cream tone) or medium (beige foundation cream tone).

Second, decide what tone your hair color is: light (ash, blonde, etc.), medium (golden brown, light brown, etc.) or dark (shades of black). The combination of these two factors will determine your contrast level.

Fair skin (ivory cream base)

Light hair color - light skin and light hair (low contrast level).

Average hair color - fair skin and light brown hair (medium contrast level).

Dark hair color - light skin and dark hair (high contrast level).

Dark skin (beige base cream)

Light hair color - not very dark skin and light hair (low contrast level).

Medium hair color - medium dark skin and light brown hair (contrast level - low to medium).

Dark hair color - dark skin and dark hair (contrast level - medium to high).

Skin tone also influences your makeup choices. Three women wore red lipstick. On a woman with dark skin and dark hair (medium-high contrast level), the red tone of lipstick tends to look muted and natural. On a woman with dark skin and medium hair color (medium contrast level), it looks impressive. But on a woman with fair skin and blond hair (low contrast level), it looks extravagant and can be recommended for evening makeup.

Step 2: Look through your wardrobe. The colors of your clothes also significantly affect your makeup palette. Most colors can be classified into one of three categories - warm, neutral or cool, depending on the color undertone.

Colors with yellow undertones are considered warm, while colors with blue undertones are considered cool.

Neutral colors (white, black, gray, etc.) belong to an intermediate category that cannot be classified as either warm or cool colors.

It is important to remember that the colors of blush, lipstick and nail polish should match, and also match the color of clothing: cold colors go with cool colors, warm colors with warm ones. This is called color harmony, and this key point should not be forgotten when choosing clothes and cosmetics.

Memo

All color tones are combined with neutral colors - black, white, gray: cold, warm, neutral.

Stage 3. Decide what effect you are striving for - natural, classic business or extravagant evening makeup. Based on this, make your final decision and proceed.
