Contracture Compensatory

Compensatory contracture is a spasm of muscles and/or ligaments that develops to reduce pain associated with impaired motor function and maintain mobility of the affected joints. The cause of contracture can be either a mechanical reason - dysfunction of ligaments and joints, or neuropathic - damage to the nerves going to the muscles and ligaments, which leads to disruption of their function and an increase in the forces they exert on the joints.

Symptoms of compensatory contracture may include sensitivity and increased pain in the affected joint, limitation of movement, including during loads, as a rule, there are difficulties when moving - slipping or tension of the affected joint (due to poor gliding) causes discomfort, pain and symptoms similar to other neurological diseases - weakness in the limbs, poor posture, pain in the back, neck, etc. Symptoms caused by compensatory muscle spasms may occur during sports or physical activity.
