Dermographism Urticarial

A dermographic reaction is a type of reaction that occurs after trauma to the skin, i.e. reaction to mechanical irritation of tissues or pathological responses of the body to skin damage.

The peculiarity of these manifestations is the nature and timing of their occurrence. The first stage of the reaction is irritation of certain areas of the skin, then their infiltration and hyperemia with transition to peeling. The process of obtaining these manifestations is called “dermotomography”. Dermographic manifestations have certain features. The main characteristic of this process is the presence of a linear stripe or stripe of a reddish color, the appearance of which is associated with a narrowing of small blood vessels located in the superficial layers of the dermis, and pronounced vesiculations on the sides of it due to a decrease in the resistance of the wall of the veins themselves

Dermographic reaction (shake the recipe in Russian - “respik” - stamp your foot) is a vasomotor reaction, expressed in a change in the color of the skin or its individual areas. In the International Classification of Diseases, dermographism is classified in the class of diseases related to disorders of the nervous system and sensory organs (F06). In veterinary medicine it occurs only in dogs.
