Dermozolon: description, application and possible side effects
Dermozolon is a combination drug containing glucocorticosteroids produced in Hungary by the Gedeon Richter company. The active ingredients of Dermozolon - Prednisolone and Clioquinol - allow it to be used to treat various skin diseases.
The dosage form of Dermozolon is an ointment that is applied to the affected areas of the skin. It is effective for eczema, diaper rash and other dermatitis, which are characterized by allergic inflammation complicated by a bacterial or fungal infection. The ointment can also be used for superficial limited bacterial or fungal infections of the skin, which are characterized by allergic inflammation, the treatment of which with other antibacterial and antifungal agents has proven ineffective.
However, the use of Dermozolon has some contraindications. For example, it should not be used for iodine hypersensitivity, viral skin infections, cutaneous tuberculosis, cutaneous manifestations of syphilis and skin neoplasms.
Like any medicine, Dermozolon may cause side effects. With prolonged use and/or application to large surfaces of the skin, systemic effects characteristic of glucocorticoids may occur. Hypersensitivity reactions to iodine are also possible.
There is no data on the interaction of Dermozolon with other drugs, and there is no data on possible overdose.
It is important to remember that Dermozolon can stain laundry, so you need to make sure that the ointment does not get on your clothes.
Summarizing the general results, we can say that Dermozolon is an effective drug for the treatment of skin diseases that are characterized by allergic inflammation complicated by infection. However, before using it, you must consult your doctor and become familiar with all contraindications and possible side effects.
