Diclofenacol: description of the drug, indications for use, contraindications and side effects
Diclofenacol (international name - diclofenac) is a representative of the pharmaceutical group of anti-inflammatory drugs derived from phenylacetic acid. This drug is widely used in medicine to treat various diseases associated with inflammation and pain. The name "Diclofenacol" is the trademark under which this drug is produced in Romania by the company Hyperion S.A.
Diclofenacol is used to treat various joint diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatism, ankylosing spondylitis, chronic gouty arthritis, degenerative diseases (osteoarthrosis deformans, osteochondrosis), lumbago, sciatica, neuralgia, myalgia, diseases of extra-articular tissues (tenosynovitis, bursitis, rheumatic soft tissue tissues), post-traumatic pain syndromes accompanied by inflammation, postoperative pain, acute attack of gout, primary dysmenorrhea, adnexitis, migraine attacks, renal and hepatic colic, infections of the ENT organs, residual effects of pneumonia. In addition, Diclofenacol can be used to treat injuries of tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints, localized forms of soft tissue rheumatism. In ophthalmology, the drug is used to treat non-infectious conjunctivitis, post-traumatic inflammation after penetrating and non-penetrating wounds of the eyeball, pain syndrome when using an excimer laser, during surgery for removal and implantation of the lens (pre- and postoperative prevention of miosis, cystoid edema of the optic nerve).
Diclofenacol contains the active substance diclofenac sodium. The drug is available in the form of a 1% cream, which is applied to the skin at the site of pain. Moreover, Diclofenacol is available in various dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, injections and suppositories.
Despite the wide range of indications for use, Diclofenacol has a number of contraindications and side effects that must be taken into account before using it. Contraindications to the use of the drug include hypersensitivity to diclofenac, hematopoietic disorders, gastric and duodenal ulcers, bronchial asthma, severe liver and kidney disorders, pregnancy and lactation, children (up to 6 years). In addition, the drug is not recommended for use in combination with other anti-inflammatory drugs, anticoagulants and antithrombotic agents.
Side effects of Diclofenacol may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, insomnia, increased nervousness, allergic reactions, impaired renal and liver function, anemia, thrombocytopenia, hyperkalemia, hypertension, blurred vision, decreased hearing, skin rash.
