Scientists from the University of Hawaii have proven that stress is contagious. As a result of their research, they came to the conclusion that stress is transmitted from people who are close to you, and vice versa - when you are nervous, you transmit your worries to others.
Grumpy colleagues, demanding relatives, problem children - all this affects our mood and directly affects the nervous system and psyche. Stress, like yawning, is instantly transmitted to another person and, like a contagious disease, infects all people with weakened immune systems.
Interestingly, this phenomenon most often applies to women. After all, representatives of the fairer sex are more emotional and sensitive to the experiences of other people. The essence of the problem is that by repeatedly experiencing negative emotions, people lose the ability to resist extraneous factors and perceive other people’s stress as their own.
