Donate blood and help the little patients of OKHMATDET!

Every day, many children fight for their lives in hospitals around the world. They often require donated blood for successful treatment, which makes blood donation especially important. In Ukraine, the National Children's Specialized Hospital "OKHMATDET" is one of the main centers where children with various diseases, including cancer, are treated. However, the treatment of each child may require blood from several donors.

LG Electronics invites everyone to become voluntary donors and take part in the new stage of the project “Drops of Blood - the Life of People”, which will be held in the Transfusiology Department of the National Children's Specialized Hospital “OKHMATDET” on April 22 and 24. The project “Drops of Blood – People’s Lives” has already been successfully operating in Kyiv for more than two years, and during this time 10 donor events have been held. Each helped raise awareness of the problems associated with blood donation and show that one act of kindness can save several lives.

This year, in order to draw attention to the need for donor blood for children's medical institutions, all donor events will be dedicated to helping sick children. The first campaign to collect donor blood will take place in the Department of Transfusiology of the National Children's Specialized Hospital "OKHMATDET", building 16 (28/1 Chernovola St.). You can donate blood in the morning from 9:30 to 13:00. In order to donate blood, you must register in advance by calling (067) 961 9339. You must have your passport with you.

For those who are not yet familiar with the process of blood donation, it is a simple and safe process that can save the life of a sick person. Donor campaigns, such as “A Drop of Blood – People’s Lives,” are an important step towards providing sick children with the necessary blood. They also remind us that our actions can have a huge impact on the lives of others.

According to the National Children's Specialized Hospital "OKHMATDET", in 2012 the hospital received 18,115 patients, of which 11,658 required donated blood, and 749 patients required blood products regularly. These indicators show how important it is to have enough blood donors to ensure that all sick children are treated. By taking part in donor drives, we can help reduce the blood shortage and save the lives of many children.

We must also not forget that blood donation is safe for donors. Before each blood collection, donors undergo a medical examination, and only after doctors are satisfied that they are healthy are they allowed to donate blood. Blood collection occurs using special medical instruments that guarantee the safety and comfort of the procedure.

Thus, by taking part in donor campaigns, we can not only help sick children, but also make an important contribution to the common good. If you want to become a blood donor and take part in the project “A Drop of Blood – the Life of People,” do not forget to register in advance and come to the Transfusiology Department of the National Children's Specialized Hospital “OKHMATDET” on April 22 or 24. Together we can make the world a better place and help those who really need it.
